There are few stars in Hollywood history that have carved out the kind of niche for themselves that Sam Elliott has. His distinctive look, baritone voice, and rugged appeal have helped him land roles for about 50 years now. However, there is a lot more to Sam Elliott than a voice or a mustache. You’ll be amazed at some of the things that Sam has done and seen during his life and time in the spotlight.
Not Following Father’s Wishes
Born in 1944 in California, Sam Elliott was the son of a U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service worker. Sam’s father, Henry, was not a big fan of Sam’s dream to become an actor. At the age of 9, Sam already knew that he wanted to act for a living, but Henry didn’t think that was a good career path. The ensuing rift would impair their relationship and define much of Sam’s mentality in the future.
