The Harry Potter franchise was undoubtedly responsible for catapulting many new names into the industry, including Emma Watson. She portrayed Hermoine Granger stellarly in this series, which earned her great respect and recognition. Watson claims to have struggled with the last two films in the series as they turned out to be rather dark and contained fragments of death and torture.
Maybe this is the reason for the star not taking new and exciting roles and instead spending her time writing. Emma Watson is a great example of what beauty and brains look like, and she has worked extensively to promote women’s rights.
Cuba Gooding Jr.
Who can forget Cuba Gooding Jr.'s breakout role in the classic movie "Boyz N Da Hood?" The son of Cuba Gooding Sr. really showed what he was capable of in front of a camera. A few years later, Gooding Jr. had an unforgettable role alongside Tom Cruise in the movie "Jerry Maguire," most notably for the line "Show me the money!"
As the years progressed, his roles were a lot less consistent in terms of critical reception. Thankfully, though, Cuba reminded us just how good of an actor he can be in great entertaining parts, Emmy-nominated role as OJ in the series "The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story."
Emma Roberts
Emma Roberts has been everywhere for the past decade or so, first in teenage movies like “Nancy Drew” and “Aquamarine,” and then in indie projects like “Palo Alto,” raunchy comedies like “We’re the Millers” and cheesy rom-coms like “Maybe I Do.” Her TV work includes, most memorably, the “American Horror Story” series and “Scream Queens.”
All grown up, Ms. Roberts is still pursuing an acting career, however, her level of fame and glory remains steady and doesn't seem to be going too high in the near future. In March 2019, Emma hooked up with fellow actor Garret Hedland of "TRON: Legacy" fame. The two welcomed a child into the world together in December 2020 and decided to go their separate ways in January 2022.
Ally Sheedy
Ally Sheedy is one of the biggest names of the 1980s and one of John Huges's biggest discoveries. She is best known for her role in "The Breakfast Club" where Sheedy played the role of Allison Reynolds. She immediately melted our hearts and was promised a massive career in the industry. She was a dominant member of the Brat Pack, which was a guaranteed ticket into the industry.
For Sheedy, things didn't work out as she planned, and when Hollywood only wanted her for a specific role that didn't always suit her, she decided to take her life journey elsewhere. These days, she is a professor in the theater department in a New York college.
Jennifer Grey
If you want to put Baby in a corner, make sure Jennifer Grey doesn't play her. She starred in two of the eighty's biggest movies, starting with “Ferris Bueller's Day Off” and then went on to “Dirty Dancing.” The two made her a star and earned her a Golden Globe nomination. However, a car crash with then-boyfriend Matthew Broderick changed her life – from then on, she says, it felt weird being in the spotlight.
Since that fateful day, she's been in mostly TV and made-for-TV movies. She also underwent two rhinoplasty surgeries that she says hurt her career. The most notable achievement in the most recent years of her career was winning season 11 of "Dancing With the Stars." Looks like nothing will get the dancer out of her.
