When a person who has a dimpled smile, they are considered to be very cited and adorable. Many of us would actually love to be those people. However, it will shock a lot of people to realize that medical practitioners consider dimples as a deformity. So, how exactly is this possible, and does it in any way affect who these people are?
Genetics has explained to us that dimples occur due to short muscles around the face. This means that will a baby grows in the womb, a dimple is formed when some of the connective tissues around the particular region do not form properly. This does not only happen on the cheeks, but it also happens on the back and on the chin.
Dimples are Hereditary
If the father and mother of a child have dimples, there is only a slight chance that the child will not have dimples. The gene responsible for creating dimples are most dominant and they are passed on to offspring. However, one might not be 100% certain of this possibility.
Dimples sometimes go numb in some generations
Despite the fact that dimples are hereditary and usually dominant, they sometimes are not found in some generation of carriers. There are chances that the gene could become recessive over time, or just be suppressed by other contenders during child formation. However, they can always reappear after some generations.
What personality traits are attached to dimples?
It might not be particularly conclusive to say there is a specific pattern in which dimples affect personalities, but a couple of physical observations have made questions and suggestion arises. However, it has to be clearly established that dimples have no known impact on the brain.
People may have different personalities
A research on popular people who have dimples and a select few who are not particularly has revealed that most of the people with dimples are thirsty for fame, although they are also always quite lively. It has also been established that these people are usually flirty and also very emotional. They are very expressive in their emotions, so they might cry when they are too happy or too sad. This can be backed up with the finding that most of the people with cleft chins (deeper and almost permanent dimples), are more fame hungry, attention seeking and emotional. However, there is no way to confirm this assertion yet.
How to help people who are not comfortable with their dimples.
While some people are craving for dimples, and while some are even taking steps to get artificial dimples, it might be surprising to find out that there are people who are not comfortable with their dimples, but it is what it is. The most effective way to help such people is to teach them to appreciate themselves and love themselves because dimples are usually permanent. However, there are some surgical procedures that can help reduce the size of very deep dimples.
Dimples may affect people’s personality but there is no certain and medical or scientifically proven explanation to this.
