Seasons: 1 season 10 episodes. Starring: Warrick Brownlow-Pike, Dave Chapman, Kevin Clash, Alice Dinneen, Damian Farrell, Louise Gold, Beccy Henderson, Helena Smee, Katherine Smee, Neil Sterenberg, and, Victor Yerrid. The series continues to explore the Thra, created in 1982, in the original series The Dark Crystal.
Why it’s lukewarm: The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is average. Those who are familiar with the first series will adore the 2019 interpretation, however, if this is the first time for you, the new (and so-called improved) version doesn’t seem to hold the magic the original series held.
Elite (So-So)
Seasons: 5 seasons, 40 episodes. Starring: María Pedraza, Itzan Escamilla, Miguel Bernardeau, Miguel Herrán, Jaime Lorente, Álvaro Rico, Arón Piper, Mina El Hammani, Ester Expósito, and,Omar Ayuso. Elite is a Spanish teen thriller series. It features the fictional relationship between three middle-lower class students and their filthy rich classmates.
Why it’s lukewarm: If the producers would have kept the storyline simpler and less fictional, then Elite could easily go on our Best list. However, too many elements, such as two timelines, and an unsolved mystery, turn this series into a So So one.
Emily in Paris (So-So)
Seasons: 2 seasons, 20 episodes. Starring:Lily Collins, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Ashley Park, Lucas Bravo, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, Camille Razat, William Abadie, and, Lucien Laviscount. Emily in Paris is an easy-to-watch rom-com series, about Emily who is repositioned by her work to Paris and experiences the French people's true nature, the complexity of relationships, and the beauty of one of the most romantic cities in the world.
Why it’s lukewarm: Because if you've seen one, you've seen them all. Emily in Paris doesn't renew anything, there is no innovation, no surprises, and no extraordinary acting skills. Having said that, it's full of punch lines, it's a great show to watch on a girl's night in, and it captures exquisite shots of Paris. What more should a girl ask for?
Brand New Cherry Flavor (So-So)
Seasons: 1 season, 8 episodes. Starring: Rosa Salazar, Catherine Keener, Eric Lange, Manny Jacinto, and, Jeff Ward. Based on the novel with the same title, Brand New Cherry Flavor is a horror series about a young and ambitious movie producer (Rosa Salazar) who comes to LA to make her dreams come true but instead is confronted with a nightmare.
Why it’s lukewarm: This is definitely not for everyone. Rosa Salazar is superb, however, the storyline in some scenes loses the magic of fiction and becomes somehow unprofessional and a kind of child play.
The Break With Michelle Wolf (SO-SO)
Seasons: 1 Season, 10 episodes. Starring: Michelle Wolf and a rotating group of guests Description: Michelle Wolf was the host of the 2018 White House Correspondents dinner. This was a difficult task to complete, and following its success, she was offered her own weekly variety program.
Why it’s lukewarm: There was a lot of hype surrounding the launch of her late-night TV show, which is largely dominated by male hosts. Unfortunately, it failed to live up to its expectations and was canceled after its first season. Still, there are some interesting segments which focus on politics, but overall, the show lacked cohesion and wasn’t able to deliver.
