It is quite interesting to see how Marie Kondo organizes her space and keeps everywhere neat. She has started a new Netflix series which is titled, ‘Tidying Up With Marie Kondo’. She has been in everyone’s faces recently, and we can proudly say that people are glad to have her in their lives. She is blessed with many skills to help reorganize different spaces and declutter homes for those who desperately need help. According to her, a cluttered space can become a cluttered life. In her last episodes, she touched some points that we think is quite fair to share. Find them below.
Your Relationship Can Suffer From Clutter
At the very first episode of the series, Marie had a guest, Kevin, who is a father to two young children, and has a very messy apartment. He admitted that the clutter in his home affects his productivity, and also takes its toll on his relationship with his family. Another duo, Matt and Frank, also admitted that they have been struggling through their relationship because of the mess in their home, and they cannot have 7their parents over, because they would not be proud to see them so disorganized. Marie Kondo explained that cleaning or organizing the home together can deepen the relationship between couples, and everyone should take advantage of it. While they do so, couples get to see their memories, laugh and enjoy all the amazing moments in their relationship again. It soap helps them to work together as a team on other projects. At the end of the time spent cleaning, the family is stronger and more connected, and they will have enough space to demonstrate it.
Do Not Tidy by Location, Tidy by Category
Usually, when the whole house is messy, you do the tidying room after room, but you still end if looking for things and messing the whole place up after a while. This is the common way to do it, but it is also the wrong way to do it. If you want to tidy your home or office up, and you want to keep it tidy for as long as possible, you should do it by category. Categorize all the items in the space and put them together. Some of the most basic categories include documents, clothing, books, tools, and other miscellaneous items. When you do this, it will be easy for you to find anything as you go, and to keep the house organized for as long as possible.
Make Friends With Tiny Boxes
Boxes are life savers when it comes to organizing a space. Littering the place with different items even after categorizing them can guarantee that they would soon get scattered again. So, employ the services of tiny boxes. Make them your friends. Give everything a home to stay by putting them in a categorized box. Sometimes, it is even easier to label those boxes based on the category of things in them
Staying organized can be compared to staying sane. Even though things always get messy, we should put in effort to tidy them up.
