Land Rover Road Rover
Predicted Cost: $90,900
Even the SUV giant Land Rover has joined the electrical fight, its first contender being the Road Rover. This electrical SUV will take you 300 miles on a single charge thanks to the same technology that helps power the Jaguar XJ. This medium-SUV has a goal of dominating the market by offering the best that Land Rover can give in an extremely eco-friendly fashion. This all-wheel-drive vehicle features the traditional and recognizable look of the Land Rover while inserting some light touches to makes sure that passersby know you’re driving an electric car (other than the soundless driving of course).
Land Rover has always been a very flexible brand and allows you to start your day by going to the mall and a nice cafe with the family, then driving straight into the mountains for some off-road action. It appears that the Road Rover will allow you to do exactly that, but with more style and arguably faster acceleration. This car is coming to the market very soon, expect to see more details in the following months just prior to its entrance into the market.
Jeep Wrangler Plug-in Hybrid
Predicted Cost: $31,295
One of the biggest problems with SUVs and pickup trucks is their incredible appetite for fuel. It’s not uncommon to see one of these bad boys guzzling an impressive 30+ miles per gallon when driving in the city. Jeep is trying to remedy that problem by creating a plug-in hybrid version of their beloved Jeep Wrangler, and is expected to release the new car model sometime in 2020. The main premise and idea behind making a hybrid of such an unexpected car is the dramatic improvement we are likely going to see in the hybrid Wrangler’s fuel economy.
The car was recently spotted being test-driven at the Jeep Auburn Hills, Michigan plant, and so far it looks like the car maker is going to keep every last bit of its sense of adventure, while also making sure there would be an environment to enjoy in the coming years and decades. In-terms of its abilities to drive in water, we’re happy to tell you that the Wrangler would be just as able to drive in anything below two feet of water without a problem.
BMW i4
Predicted Cost: $50,000
BMW is making major advances into the electric market as-well, with the i4 being the car maker’s response to the Model 3 Tesla and the Audi e-GT. It appears that out of all the regular suspects, BMW is putting in the extra effort to really make itself stand apart in the electric market. While most car manufacturers opt to take one of their famous models, make some minor adjustments to the exterior and label it their debut electrical, it seems that BMW is re-inventing what an electric car should look like, with one of the most futuristic car designs we’ve ever seen done successfully.
It seems that this Jetsons-esque vehicle isn’t just eye-candy, as the I4 comes with an all-wheel-drive and two electric motors taking you from zero to sixty in 4 seconds flat using its 530 horsepower. It also has an extremely impressive 80kWh battery that will suffice for 350 miles on a full charge. We’ll emphasize the main point here, BMW is taking a strong offensive with their i4, and there’s a very good chance that they might just steal a large percentage of their market due to their unwillingness to compromise on originality, creativity, delivery, and style.
Mercedes-Benz EQC
Predicted Cost: $90,000
As we’ve said before, EVERYONE is joining the electric car market, because like it or not, the eco-friendly vehicles are quickly becoming a modern reality. Although the first electric car was invented back in the ‘30s, it took Tesla to wake up the market and show consumers just how great these noiseless and energy-efficient vehicles can be. Mercedes is no different of-course and has also joined the fully-electric car market with its 2020 Mercedes EQC. It’s going to be a very tight race to see who's the best electric car manufacturer, and competition will undoubtedly accelerate progress in this already progressive market.
The EQC maintains the same body structure as the GLC, except instead of a fuel tank you’ll get a charging point just in the right rear of the car. Like many of its electric counterparts, the EQC accelerate fast, with a zero to sixty time of 4.9 seconds, according to Mercedes. Under the hood you’re going to find 2 asynchronous electric motor, generating 402 horsepower and 561 pound-feet of torque, making this a considerable vehicle. Models of the car will begin selling in early 2020 and the price will be around $70,000.
Polestar 3/4
Predicted Cost: $63,000/$155,000
When the Volvo Polestar 3 and 4 were first announced, they were being pre-ordered like no other car from the popular automaker. The Polestar 3 and 4 are part of a new line of groundbreaking cars Volvo is working on, both in their design and in their internal systems. With an all-electric engine and a fantastic 275 miles of range on a single charge, Volvo is truly positioning themselves to pioneer the electric cars market along with Elon Musk’s Tesla brand.
The company is as ambitious as ever and aims to have four of these vehicles already on the roads and in the hands of consumers by the end of 2020. Each of the four Polestars will be unique in their own way, and based on Volvo’s incredible track record for innovation in the tech and safety departments, we’re confident that these bad boys will blow away consumer’s minds.
