Nissan Versa
Predicted Cost: $14,730
Taking a step back from the Porsches, Aston Martins and other pricey cars on our list and moving on to one of the most affordable ones, the 2020 Nissan Versa is looking to be one of the year’s best entry-level cars for families looking for a cheap and reliable car with the best technology that its price level can support.
This year’s Versa seems to be slightly less spacious than the 2019 model and it’s a 2.3 inches closer to the ground. The car comes with all the recent tech upgrades including high-quality LEDs, bigger wheels, black mirror caps and a new V-motion grille. Nissan offers three versions of the Versa, including the S, SV and the SR trim. The car puts out 122 horsepower using its 1.6 liter I-4 engine and has a gas mileage of 30 miles per gallon in the city and 35 on the highway. You can purchase the 2020 Nissan Versa for a very reasonable $14,730 which should fit most consumers who are looking for an affordable vehicle to take them from A to B in a comfortable and safe fashion.
Subaru Legacy
Predicted Cost: $22,745
We were first introduced to the Subaru Legacy back when it hit the markets in the mid-‘60s, and while the car has been well received, it did leave a bit lacking in-terms of its design. The 2020 Subaru takes care of just that with a revamped look that closely mirrors the popular Honda Accord and Honda Camry, but it's not just the exterior that has been significantly improved this year. If you’re looking for safety and the latest in terms of technology at slightly higher than entry price, you’ll definitely find it in the 2020 Subaru Legacy; With brand new flared fenders, adaptive cruise control and an overhauled interior full of the latest gadgets and tech, you’ll definitely feel right at home.
As aforementioned, the safety features have also been upgraded significantly, from life-saving auto-emergency brakes to lane departure warning signals and lane-centering technologies. If you’re interested in the car but are looking mostly for the comfort, safety, and tech (without the inflated price tag of the Mercedes and Audi brand), you should get the 2.5-liter engine with 182 horsepower. If, on the other hand, you like to mix speed with all that modern stuff, you should definitely go for the turbo 2.4 liter engine that can produce a very respectable 260 horsepower.
Aston Martin DBX
Predicted Cost: $226,250
The famous luxury vehicle brand Aston Martin has been trying to create a bunch of creative new lineups in it’s rather a small set of cars. We’ve been introduced to everything from the hybrid Aston Martin Valkyrie to the limited electric Aston Martin Rapid E. One of the company's latest ventures has been a very serious attempt to create serious competition for the Ferraris and the Lamborghinis that are often purchased by the rich and famous. It’s the latest iteration in this attempt is the incredible 2020 Aston Martin DBX, which it hopes will be a game-changer in the supercar industry.
While there is still a lot to find out about the car, which is currently in intense production at the company’s factory in Wales, we already know that it has been described by critics as a possible “Lamborghini killer.” The DBX sports twin-turbo 4-liter V8 engines and uses the new hybrid tech that Mercedes Benz has been using in their vehicles as of late. The car has been self-described by Aston Martin as the most important car the maker has ever designed and based on the photos, you can probably see why.
Ford Bronco
Predicted Cost: $45,000
The Ford Bronco was one of Ford’s most intimidating and bulky vehicles when it was on the markets in the early and mid ‘90s. It was a great seller and a true American beast, with even its name meaning “a wild or half-tamed horse of the western US” in popular lingo. Despite its popularity and success, the model was discontinuous in 1996 after sales of the Bronco tanked due to the infamous 1994 murder case related to OJ Simpson. It seems that almost two decades was just the time the company needed to re-introduce this monster of a car to American markets hungry for off-road behemoths that can dominate tough terrain.
Although the 2020 Bronco is similar to the Ford Escape in many ways, it is distinctly more rugged than its companion. Ford has remained largely quiet regarding details of this goliath of a car, although they have promised that it is back and “better than ever”. Consumers are excited about the Bronco, and for good reason, the car was one of the best selling 4x4 in its prime, and we might just see an insane comeback this year from Ford’s new monster.
Toyota Corolla
Predicted Cost: $19,600
One of the most popular cars in the world right now is the Toyota Corolla series. It’s used worldwide by consumers and many police stations as their go-to vehicle that’s cheap and effective at the same time. With the addition of the newest Corolla from the 2020 assortment, you’re going to get incredible gas mileage at just 31 miles per gallon in the city and 40 MPG on the highway. The Corolla also has an impressive fuel tank that holds 1.2 gallons of fuel and two choices for its engine.
If you’re looking for a cheaper option, you’ll probably go for the 1.8 liters four-cylinder engine that produces 139 horsepower, but if you’re looking for a bit more power behind the wheel, the pricier 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine should do the trick with its 169 horsepower, an 18% increase in power. The Corolla has always been considered a very safe and reliable car and the 2020 version has improved on its safety features even further. It scored a 9.8 out of 10 in safety ranking by US News.
