But just because the mail isn’t the peak of entertainment, doesn’t mean it can’t be made a little more fun. In the previous two installments of this article, you saw just the right mailboxes that achieve that goal. Here is the third collection!
Into the Furnace!
No one likes getting bills in the mail. It’s probably the worst part of being an adult. We’ve all daydreamed about “losing” those dreaded bills or maybe throwing them into the fire, never to be seen again. This person made those daydreams come true. They constructed a mailbox out of a vintage fire stove and have designated the furnace as the “special” slot for bills.
This person is our hero. The sign about dropping bills in the furnace is obviously a joke, but imagine if life worked this way. It would be the perfect excuse to never pay a bill again. If you ignore (and burn) a bill, it’ll just go away, right? We can’t help but wonder if the stove door is actually functional. It would be pretty fun if their mailperson played along and actually did place their bills in there.
Where’s the Mailbox?
This sneaky homeowner has tried their best to hide their mailbox. According to the neighborhood’s postman, he struggles to find it every time he has to deliver mail. We can’t imagine why. There are only three mailboxes in this picture…oh, wait. We totally missed that camouflage box on the top left. It could have fooled us.
Let’s be honest. This isn’t exactly the best camouflage paint job we’ve ever seen. It’s definitely giving DIY energy. We have to at least give the homeowner credit for adding some flair to an otherwise boring mailbox. Variety is the spice of life. This mailbox totally gets it.
An Aggressive Mail Lover
Take a look at these two mailboxes. It’s safe to assume the mailbox on the right might be overcompensating for some kind of insecurity. That thing isn’t just any old mailbox. It’s a male-box. There is so much testosterone dripping from the oversized box and aggressive drill post that we can’t stand it.
The guy who built this over-the-top mailbox definitely has a lifted truck and definitely has a vendetta against his neighbor. That poor, ordinary-looking mailbox on the left looks so sad and dweeby. You gotta love it when someone feels the need to overcompensate for the most mundane, everyday items in their life. We wonder what their trash cans look like.
Meta Mail
What in the world happened to this mailbox? Someone scraped together a box of a mailbox and made it into a mailbox. Wait, we’re confusing ourselves. Let’s start over. Okay, so someone received a brand-new mailbox and took it out of the packaging. Then, they used that packaging to create a cardboard mailbox. But what happened to the brand-new mailbox?
We have so many questions. Something tragic must have happened to the brand-new mailbox because it’s nowhere in sight. They installed a brand-new wooden post and everything. Why would they create such a desperate-looking top half unless something really bad happened? Here’s hoping that no new mailboxes were harmed in the making of this atrocity.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Work
This mailbox collaboration is a perfect example of what’s possible when you get along with your neighbor. These two homeowners joined forces to make the cutest decoration out of their mailboxes. They made use of those giant googly eyes that you always see at “Michael’s” but never get the guts to actually buy.
This is a sign that you should buy those googly eyes. You can add them to your mailbox to create an adorable face. These mailbox owners took it one step further by adding a cute black mustache. Their mailboxes are now the face of a fancy French butler waiting to accept their mail.
Oh La-La
This might be the sexiest set of, uh, mailboxes we’ve ever seen. Two homeowners joined forces to create this absolutely wild art sculpture out of their neighboring mailboxes. Whether you approve of this sculpture or not, there’s no denying that it required vision, dedication, and plenty of creativity to make.
It looks like whoever made this used old rebar and some repurposed scrap metal to create the woman’s figure. They used what they already had to create the rest. They left no stone unturned for the details. Each mailbox has a special, uh, accent mark on the door. You know what we mean.
A Mailbox? In This Economy?
Did you know that mailboxes can cost upwards of $100 or more? Of course, it depends on how fancy you want to get with your mailbox, but the average mailbox isn’t cheap. In this economy, people are trying to save money wherever and whenever they can. That’s why we totally feel for the person who slapped together this monstrosity.
The cinder block says it all. This is a mailbox that is practical, not pretty. Hey, as long as there’s somewhere for the mailperson to stash your mail, that’s all that matters. Who needs a fancy brushed steel mailbox that lights up and sings every time you open it? Not this person. They know the true value of saving money and staying on a budget. It doesn’t always look pretty, but it works.
Here, Kitty, Kitty
There are plenty of creative and cost-effective ways to spruce up one’s mailbox. Buying a magnetic cover is a quick and easy way to add some pizzazz to your outdoor envelope holder. Some might find these covers to be cheesy, but we totally embrace the kitschy artwork that’s usually featured on them. This person bought a unique and colorful magnetic mailbox cover dedicated to a cat.
What could be more pleasant than a cheesy-looking painting of a calico cat perched amongst some flowers? Nothing. The best part about this mailbox is that they can easily change the way it looks whenever they get tired of it. Here’s hoping they named the fake cat and feel compelled to greet it every time they go out to get the mail.
I Surrender!
It’s always fun to find faces in the most unexpected places. Do you see the face in this mailbox? If you look closely, you’ll see the mail slot as a mouth and the two screws on the top as the eyes. It’s actually pretty cute! If that’s the face, it’s pretty easy to see the natural wooden holder as a pair of arms. It looks like an anthropomorphized mailbox raising its arms in surrender.
Besides the cute imaginary face, this is a cool mailbox. It appears to be handmade out of naturally sourced wood and a large branch that the artist most likely found around their property. Some people might think it needs a coat of paint, but we think the natural vibes make it look so unique and special.
Shark Sighting
This shark statue has to be one of the most creative mailboxes we’ve ever laid eyes on. This thing is part mailbox, part art installation. Throwing someone’s mail into the jaws of a terrifying shark must be the highlight of the delivery person’s day. This shark mailbox lives in the Southern California neighborhood of La Jolla, and locals say the homeowners decorate it according to the season.
Whoever owns this mailbox must have been excited about the new “Barbie” movie because they installed Barbie and Ken hovering above the shark’s vicious maw. There must be some sort of invisible fishwire involved with this artistic decor. We’re kind of sad this shark mailbox doesn’t live in our own neighborhood. More people should do this!
Just Thinkin’
It’s always a joy to find artwork in unexpected places. A homeowner reinvented their humdrum mailbox and created something truly unique. They used repurposed pipes or bars to create a figure sitting on an old wrought iron chair. This mailbox is so awesome. They creatively positioned the steel bars in such a way that the one supporting the front of the mailbox is an arm while the one in the back is the neck.
Seeing this on a delivery route would bring a smile to any mailperson’s face. The creator of this mailbox did such a good job that we’re actually forgetting this statue isn’t a real being. Somehow, it seems totally normal that this stick figure creature has a mailbox for a head.
A Festive Mailbox
This holiday-themed mailbox looks like it drank too much eggnog at the Post Office holiday party. Why did they design this Christmas decoration with such a silly face? Despite the questionable facial expression, this box is quite cute. Obviously, it’s not a real, functioning mailbox unless you want to send a letter to Santa.
The mailboxes from the North Pole are built differently. First off, they’re white and red instead of blue. Also, they’re totally into the holiday spirit. How many regular Post Office boxes do you see decorated with garland and gold lettering? Not many. This mailbox’s face is probably so silly because he’s drunk on good cheer and holiday wishes.
This Looks Suspicious…
This mailbox must be a joke in its own neighborhood. If your mind is constantly in the gutter, you already know why. For those who are still in the dark, take a second look at this mailbox. The planters on either side frame a cylindrical mailbox stand that culminates in a pointed brick facade with a classic white box in the center.
Yeah, it totally looks like what you’re thinking. Whoever planned out this mailbox housing unit did not think far enough ahead. They should have at least drawn it out ahead of time. That would have given them enough time to realize that their brand-new mailbox would become the laughingstock of the internet.
The 3 R’s of Recycling
Whoever made this mailbox took the phrase “reduce, reuse, recycle” to a whole new level. They gutted an old Apple iMac computer tower and installed it as their mailbox. It’s quite genius, actually. The slot that used to hold CDs is now the mail slot where the local mailman or mailwoman can deliver letters.
What we really want to know is how they got that thing screwed into the stone wall. That’s an intense installation. Plus, we can’t help but wonder how they get the letters out once they’re slipped inside. There has to be some sort of door on the top or bottom for the owner to access their mail. We give major props to this homeowner for saving at least one piece of technology from going into an over-crowded landfill. Bravo.
A Mini Mail Shrine
Nowadays, in this economy of house flippers and overpriced rentals, it’s nice to see some unique flair when it comes to home decor. The owners of this mailbox added their own special shrine above their mailbox. It’s the highlight of the neighborhood because there’s nothing else like it. Forget those gentrified white-and-black houses with astroturf on the front lawn. It’s all about this meditating cat shrine.
They even built a special roof over the cat’s head to protect it from the elements. Whenever it rains or snows, it’s protected and preserved. We’re not going to lie. This cat seems a little judgmental. He may or may not be judging the mailperson every time they drop a few bills in the box during their route.
Found Object Sculpture or Mailbox?
This mailbox made out of found objects could easily pass for a post-modern sculpture in a big-city museum. What is the creator of this mailbox trying to say? Is it a commentary on the state of the US Postal Service? Are they trying to make a statement about environmentalism? In reality, whoever made this mailbox was probably trying to save a quick buck.
The artful stacking of the tires pushed us over the edge. It’s so classy but so trashy at the same time. You gotta love it. And the use of an empty litter box as the mailbox is so unhinged. We really hope that the thing is empty and cleaned of all possible litter remnants. Otherwise, we feel bad for whoever has to deliver the mail.
A Nightmare Before Christmas
If only we could all be as lucky as this person’s neighbors. The owner of this mailbox is a true gem in the neighborhood. Not only is this mailbox completely original and customed, but it gets decorated differently according to the season. How cute is that? The skeleton is a permanent fixture on this tractor-slash-mailbox, but the Santa hat and beard are especially for the holiday season.
We can only imagine how this person decorates their mailbox for Halloween. Also, the tractor sculpture made out of a classic mailbox shape is totally genius. We can’t unsee it. If you go around and think of a tractor every time you see a classic mailbox, we’re right there with you.
Cinco de Mailbox
There are some families who will take advantage of any opportunity to be festive. This house looks like a totally normal, cookie-cutter home found in any suburb across the United States. But wait, what’s that? Take a look at their mailbox. Someone was feeling festive for the Cinco de Mayo holiday.
These homeowners threw a sombrero and mustache on their regular-looking mailbox. Stereotypical? Yes. But we give them props for bringing some festivity to an otherwise cookie-cutter neighborhood. It’s not every day that you see a mailbox dressed to the nines for a special occasion. If only the mailperson was delivering a case of tequila that day. That would really get the party started.
That’s a Reach
We have a feeling that whoever lives in this house loves giraffes. Don’t ask us why we think that. It’s just a hunch we have. Anyway, this over-the-top mailbox is simultaneously weird and wonderful. Someone took the time to construct the longest mailbox in existence in the form of a giraffe sculpture.
This mailbox is so unnecessary. The head of the giraffe is just a regular old mailbox. What’s the point of the theatrical giraffe neck that looks to be about six feet long? Well, sometimes there is no point. Sometimes people just want to show their love for giraffes in front of their house, and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.
Folk Art Chic
If you’re a frog girl, you totally understand the vibes of this mailbox. If you’re not, well, we feel sorry for you. This frog mailbox lives outside a house in Switzerland. It’s so cheery and bright that we can’t help but smile when we look at it. Paired with that buttery yellow wall, it’s absolutely perfect.
This unique metal mailbox facade passes the vibe check. Is it sleek and modern? No. But there’s so much of that everywhere these days that it’s a nice change of pace. We need more color and more funky creativity in the world. Why not start with this cute mailbox?
Hoo’s Mailbox?
Is it just us, or do we all have at least one person in our lives who is obsessed with owls? The owner of this mailbox certainly is obsessed, as we can see from this cute handmade mailbox. Someone crafted a unique owl-shaped mail slot out of reclaimed metals. It might not be everyone’s style, but there’s no denying that it’s cute.
It’s giving granny chic, which we love. We have a feeling that whoever owns this mailbox bakes amazing cookies and always invites their grandkids over for weekend movie nights. There’s no way the rest of the house doesn’t look as cozy. It’s a given with a mailbox like this.
Keeper of the Mail
This mailbox sure is something. We’ve never seen anything like it. Your eyes are not deceiving you. This mailbox is a larger-than-life statue of a dragon. Whoever lives at this house must be a major fantasy fan because we can’t think of any other reason to craft a giraffe-colored dragon in front of one’s home. At least this homeowner is already halfway decorated for Halloween every year.
This dragon has got some personality, that’s for sure. Look at that face. He looks none too pleased that someone is coming around to open his beloved mailbox. That thing is his, and nothing is getting past the mailbox door without his approval.
Mini Me Mail
This brick house is absolutely adorable. It’s obvious that it’s well maintained and a pride of ownership house. The owners might be more proud than we originally anticipated. They love their house so much that they crafted an identical miniature version to serve as their mailbox. How cute is that?
We’re obsessed with this idea. It’s like a cute doll house but for adults. Instead of playing house with it, they can use it for the “adult” purpose of collecting their bills. Whoever lives here is quite the craftsman. The real question is where the mailperson is supposed to drop their envelopes. Do you see a slot anywhere?
Beware of the Mighty Cat
We are not sure if this was intended to happen or if this is an artistic mistake. Constructing a stone wall (intended for a mailbox or not) can turn out unexpectedly sometimes if it is designed by an amateur, and here is a great example.
The Ruby eyes resemble more of a bionic cat waiting for its daily loot. The whiskers shooting out of the mailbox nose are still unclear as this statue will not only keep mice away but also the mailman himself.
Mail House Rock
Believing you were born too late in time and that you wished you could have experienced earlier decades is one thing. Constructing a Flinstone mailbox is another. The construction must have taken years ( maybe started as early as the ancient days)
So if you're not named Fred or Willma, we suggest sticking to 21st-century mailboxes unless you are OK with a stone-headed letter as well.
Put It In The Pig
Can you imagine hearing someone calling at the postman "put it in the pig's behind"? This is exactly what the creator of this wired mailbox didn't take into account.
By looking at this image, you might think the owner wanted to scare off stray dogs with the help of a pig. And on the other hand, he might believe that all mail with no exception, is spam.

Advertising your profession through your mailbox design can be great. It makes it easier to find, it enriches what you stand for and it gives a unique touch, differentiating you from others. This Chiropractor might have taken this a little too far.
He either wants to ensure no one misses his clinic and finds him easily or he might assume not everyone knows what a Chiropractor is.

For this household, it's Halloween all year round. You can be the mailman won't miss it. All of the weird mail will arrive and be delivered into this weird box.
For future reference, can someone please explain what the hell is the mailman supposed to do with the pumpkins? Or, are they really supposed to be part of the decor?

"I gave a letter to the postman, he put it his sack. Bright early next morning, he brought my letter back". And no wonder he did. You don't have to be a mailman to be terrified by the looks of this.
Imagine having an Elvis song played every time the post is placed in that rustic tin box. Visitors could mistake this landmark for being Graceland, and for this creature being the King. NOT!
Under The Sea
It is known that water has calming effects. Going down to the sea, or sitting by a river can give you moments of tranquility and make you feel as if you are drifting over a cloud.
Using these water elements on the mailbox design might have slightly missed the signs of calmness, as one glimpse at this seashell ornament; will make you many other things but calm.
Fly Fly Away
We are surprised that this mailbox design is not still on display and it has actually been purchased. Would you place an oversized out-of-proportion bird at the front of your home?
Wouldnt be surprised if next time someone passes by, a huge "For Sale" sign will be on it (on the box, not the house).

Ok, so you're not old. You're mature. You are young with loads of experience. You're not old, but if we must use "old" in a sentence to describe you; you are getting old.
Using a medieval computer as a mailbox (or as anything) practically turns your age in. No matter how cool you think you are, with this at the entrance of your home, you have no chance.

Lego has created brand new designs with imagination roaring over the rooftop. From Knight castles to pirate ships through enchanted towers and magnificent landscapes.
The hometown collection would just not be complete without this amazing mailbox, as we wonder how on earth we managed to go through the years without it.
Lost and found
Lost and found departments can be found anywhere. Every respectable place has a niche where lost items can be placed and await their owners to return.
Somebody must have forgotten this mailbox in a lost and found section for too long as it was obviously dumped on this tree when no one came to claim it.
You Have Mail
The mail system these days is not as efficient as it was years ago. The modern world has kicked in and we enjoy cross-continent communication much easier. These days not everyone is familiar with the old-fashioned mailman and uses its services rarely.

Crocodile Dundee
This looks more like an enlarged toy than a mailbox ( as if any of the ones listed here look like mailboxes but this one is really pathetic).
We wonder if the crocodile's jaw closes every time mail is placed in its mouth. This could be a great innovative game. Try placing the mail in the box before the crocodile hits you.
Who Are You Llyn Yr Ynn?
It took us a while to figure out if the owner is the Birds family, or if Mr. Llyn Yr Ynn lives all alone. It's a bit confusing, as where we come from, Ynn is actually a very common name for pet birds so we aren't quite sure where the mailman should deliver the post to.
We assume that worst case, Mr. Ynn will let the Birds family know if he happened to get by mistake their mail, or vice-versa.
And, We're Back in the 70s
So, we are all for uniqueness, all for thinking out of the box, and really do appreciate quality art. This mailbox unfortunately doesn't fall under any of the above categories. Maybe this one is really stuck there from the 1970s, who knows?
If whoever designed this tried to put the observer into an "Under The Sea" kind of feeling, sorry, it doesn't work. So, house number 15A, we think it's time for a takeover.
Spongebob's First Attempt
So here we have a young boy's first attempt (and a very good one we must add) for creating the almighty cartoon hero, Sponge Bob. There are a few things though we must clarify before crowing this the mailbox of the year.
Why the pole? What's with the shoes? Is the next the actual place to put the post (as there are no jellyfish out there), and when are Patrick Star and Mr. Krabs supposed to arrive?
Shellfish Mania
So, you've gone down to the seashore with the kids and decided to collect some shells. You find big ones and small ones, long ones, and curved ones, and you find yourself at the end of the day with a bucket full of shells asking yourself what on earth are you supposed to do with them now.
That's easy. Just glue them all onto your mailbox, and voila. A piece of art has been created!
Cock-a-Doodle-Doo
The original version of this mailbox was actually pretty cool. It was a plain black box, with a rooster on top, announcing the mailman's arrival. Simple, different, and blended in well with the scenery. Out came the kids, and what have we here?
The juvenile decor is apparently a big thing these days. The more colors, the better. The less logic behind the elements, well that's the way it works. We understand the kids wanted to create a mailbox zoo, however, maybe some guidance was needed.
Humpty Dumpty Leaned on a Fence
Is this the complete design or is the egg head part missing? And the blue-coated pole on the side resembles more of a tap-dancing cane than anything else. Do you think it's clear to the mailman where the post has to be placed?
So, if you happen to pass by this, look out for eggshells scattered on the ground. If the king's men couldn't put him together, maybe the mailman could.
Use Your Left Over for Everything
So, it's spring cleaning time, you have found your grandmother's bag of wool and in honor of her memory, you are looking for something to create, that will stay around for good and will remind you of her every time you look at it.
So now, every time you go out to get your post, you will remember your grandmother, and what a real sheep she was.
Green Fish Gorgeous
We have a feeling that someone might have got the whole scenery wrong here. Maybe confused the plots? Maybe the lighthouse at the end of the mailbox row confused someone and they had mistaken the fields of nothing for the ocean?
So, next time someone feels the urge to use nature's elements, do us a favor. Get the scenery right.
Let There Be Light
So the idea behind this is great. I mean, when you live in the middle of nowhere, you have to think of a way to indicate that your mail has arrived. Nothing in the world is more frustrating than checking your mail and going back home with absolutely zilch.
The lighthouse is there not just to decorate the plains of the Midwest. Whenever there is mail waiting, it flashes, and that flash can be seen from a distance.
I Want to Ride My Bicycle
This is great for those times the mailman has called in sick and there is no one to do the rounds. The entire neighborhood is anxiously waiting to pay their monthly bills, and this is where you come to the rescue.
Hope on your mail bike, stash the mail in the designated backside, and you're on your way. We can assure you, your neighbors will remember this good deed.
What to Do With Your Kids Old Toys?
You turn them into mailboxes! A vintage steam train transformed into a mailbox is a perfect example of that. The execution of this seems to be simple, and the final result looks great.
So next time your mailman is in sight, look out for the sound of the steaming train, as you have got mail!

Mallory Ignition. That's what it is. Whoever owns this mailbox must be really mature as the engine (or whatever this is ) the box is constructed of goes back a few centuries.
At first, we thought it was a cow milking machine (don't ask us why), but then we had a closer look and came to terms with the fact that Mallory ignitions didn't make milking machines at the time.

Things you do with things you have nothing to do with anymore. This is probably the best description for the next mailbox we found. How much mail are these people expecting to receive, making them turn this monster into their mailbox?
Yet again, the residents of the middle of nowhere, manage to amaze us with their creativity, passion, and much to do about nothing kind of style.
A Drop of Water for the Way
Please read with a strong Southern accent: Hey Mr. Mailman. Are you going to pay us a visit today? Yes, ma'am, I am indeed, said the mailman. That's great, just keep on going along the road and when you reach a drop of water, well, that's our new mailbox.
No problem ma'am said the mailman. Are you sure you will find it easily? said the ma'am. Yes, sure thing, just leave a glass nearby in case I don't.
Beautiful Trains
While most of the mailboxes we have listed have emphasized the humorous side of things, some mailboxes that have come our way have done the exact opposite. Like this one.
We find this one actually beautiful. It's grand, it's nostalgic, it's vintage and it even has a ladder for the kids to play with, giving us sacred moments of peace and quiet.
Three Little Pigs
Not sure what the owner of this one thought while they were preparing the baby pink overcoats for the mailbox triplets. It won't protect from the rain, the dusty sir will turn in within no time into a shade of gray, and instead of a mailbox, they will just blend in with the colors of the view.
So, mama pig box, papa pig box, and baby pig box; all you all ready for an overall makeover?
Why Did the Chicken Cross the Road?
Well, it didn't. it passed away. And left its skeleton behind so no one ever forgets what an amazing mailbox it was. And it was. Always on time, never coco doodle dooed for no reason, and the mail......wow- some amazing mail this chicken had!
Seriously, what on earth was this mailbox owner thinking of? What it's to alert the coming and going that if you've arrived at this place, the odds are you're not going to leave?
Entrance of the Gladiators
Arriving at this home will definitely confuse visitors (and mailmen). Some might mistake the premises for being a zoo, while others might think they have arrived at the circus. Animals of all varieties waiting to be fed with mail.
The middle black and white striped cat (is it a cat?), has an express delivery method, meaning, if he's quick, he might manage to hop on the mailman's vehicle and get the hell out of there.
Free Willy
Yes, Willy was a whale and this is a seal but in our eyes, he wants to be set free as well. The owners of this mailbox (and the seal) have planted some beautiful purple flowers to brighten up the scenery. The mailbox is colored gray which blends in perfectly with the seal's natural coat.
If you happen to pass by in the near future, let us know if you can spot the seal out or not. We wonder if he was ever, truly set free.
Pickaboo
So which game are you up for? Pickaboo? I spy with my little eye? Whatever it is you choose, don't forget to make sure you find all participants of the game. You might have forgotten someone last time.

Easy Rider
We actually like this one. An almost perfect modern pf an old styled rooking horse, painted black and decorated with a beautiful saddle to complete the authentic look. Just one question...
Did the designer deliberately design this so the mailman would have to pop the mail in the horse's backside?
The English Style
We love the traditional English post boxes (they are called post boxes and not mailboxes); just like the mailman is a postman and the mail is post. Vintage-styled steel boxes that have been adorning the streets of London for centuries never seem to lose their style, and we feel this unique touch is what makes the UK so special.
Just one thing we're not sure of. At what stage did Jack the Ripper become part of the English Poat Box design?
Pink Runaway Flamingo
Seeing this pink tall flamingo from afar would not necessarily come as a surprise. Although the majority of pet owners choose to have a dog or a cat, some prefer to adopt a fish or a bird. A really big bird. A pink, gigantic, out-of-this-world great big bird.
But turning someone's pink passion into a mailbox and expecting people to be just OK with it?

We’ve got a big “Parks & Recreation” fan in the neighborhood! This person got crafty with their mailbox and created a lumberjack version of none other than Ron Swanson. Imagine seeing this in your neighborhood. What mailperson wouldn’t want to be greeted by Ron Swanson’s grumpy and gruff face every day?
This design is pretty clever. Whenever this mailbox owner has to raise the red flag on their box, it looks like Ron is holding up his lumberjack axe. When the flag is down, Ron is chopping away at the tree stump below. Hopefully, no one in the neighborhood plays with the red flag for fun. If they did, that could get confusing. Regardless, we can’t get enough of this!
Can You Reheat the Electric Bill?
Imagine going to reheat your morning coffee, opening the microwave, and finding a pile of mail inside. That’s what happens to this family every day when they go out to grab their mail. Their box is an old microwave! We love the dedication. Just think about it. Someone really took the time to source this old microwave and build a custom brick facade around it.
Putting mail into this unique mailbox absolutely has to be the highlight of the neighborhood mailperson’s route. Funnily enough, the genius behind this amazing box is allegedly an appliance repairman. So this idea is not only hilarious but a genius marketing ploy. He should have a slot next to the microwave for his business cards. Just sayin’.
Just Dump It In
The USPS delivers mail no matter what the weather conditions are like. Unless it’s a case of extreme weather, like a Category 5 hurricane, your mailperson will be there to deliver the mail. This homeowner is just as dedicated to receiving his mail. One winter, his box was completely buried under a pile of snow, and he was unable to dig it out.
What’s a guy to do? Out of desperation, he decided to improvise. He grabbed an old hockey stick and a bucket and got to work. This was the final result. Is it the most aesthetically pleasing mailbox we’ve ever seen? Not by a long shot. But does it get the job done? Absolutely. Necessity is the mother of invention, after all.
My Mailman's Name is Seuss
If you want to make this kind of mailbox, better do it while it's cold. This mailbox comes to us from outside of Colorado Springs, Colorado, where a family was a big enough fan of the good doctor – and skilled enough in shaping snow – to create something this large and intricate.
This mailbox might not be around for a long time, but it's sure to be a sight for sore eyes for the person who puts the mail inside the mouth. We also hope that it doesn't actually yell when you open the mouth. Then again...

We aren't exactly sure where the mail is going to go in this mailbox, but give the mail carrier enough time, and we're sure they'll be able to figure it out.

This official USPS mailbox in Florida looks ready to take your important mail and packages and send them on to the proper places.
All truth be told, we're a little more comfortable with Spongebob handling our mail than our food. Sponges are notoriously dirty and full of germs. Squidward is also probably happy that Spongebob is gone, too.
How High Can You Go?
One of the keys to success in our hectic modern world is organization. Keep things organized, and your projects will go smoother, take less time, and be more successful in the long run. Following this system, one creative worker has built a special mailbox to ensure the monthly bills get the treatment they deserve.

This mailbox is hot. We mean really hot. The orange flames catch the eye, the blue highlights around the flames excite the designer in all of us, and the red mail flag is the cherry on top. This design becomes impossible to ignore even if you don't have any mail for it.
We suggest stretching the design all the way and coating the pole with more flames. The mailbox would then for sure be seen from a distance. A sign with "mailman, you can light my fire" would give the perfect final touch.
Building Something Out of Nothing
Making something big is one thing, but it's another thing entirely to make something small, using small pieces. This mailbox, for instance, is an astounding bit of construction that we're certain slowed the mail carrier for a few minutes every time the mail came around.
While we can't see where the mail actually goes in, we're going to say it's probably around the back, where one might traditionally load things in a truck. But the cab gets all the attention, with intricate details on the fenders, inside the cab, on the wheels, and even for the cords from the cab to the trailer—what a treasure.
Do They Raise Them or Eat Them?
Mailboxes display your love for all to see, but this mailbox could be taken in a number of ways. Is it connected to a little farm, where they raise chickens and roosters and sell them to others? Does somebody here work at a meat processing plant, and they're honoring the animals that help support the family?

Yeah, it looks like this is just a microwave on a pole. It has a flag on the side, which means it is, in fact, a mailbox, but aside from the uniqueness of making one out of a microwave, there's nothing special here. All the mail carrier has to do is open the microwave, place the mail inside, and close it again.
There's no popping popcorn or heating up a burrito here unless the microwave somehow has power in the field it seems to be set up in. It's not such a bad choice, especially if the owner expects to get a lot of mail on a regular basis.
We're Off to See the Postman
The Tin Man is waiting for his friends Dorothy, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion, and Toto to join him for a trip down the yellow brick road, but while he's waiting, he might as well earn a little bit of scratch as a mailbox holder for this family. And look at that incredible strength – two mailboxes at once!
He certainly isn't visiting the Wizard of Oz to ask for muscles, that's for sure! This robot is made out of a keg, metal piping, a funnel, a watering can, and a couple of other parts, all painted in the same silver color, just like the classic movie character.
Private Golfer
If you spend all your time at the office dreaming about your next chance to hit the links, then you need a mailbox that is always ready to join you. While this golfer design box is as tall as the mailman himself– you can see mail and magazines chilling in there just by looking at the picture.
It looks like there's plenty of space for the mail carrier to deliver new clubs, golf shoes, and balls. Maybe it's also the kind of thing that you can take right off the post and take to the links if you can't even wait to get going.
Moon Mail
As far as the entirety of this photo, we aren't sure what's going on. You got the big huge planet behind the little brick wall, with the moon...or maybe it's just an even smaller version of the planet...in the front to collect the mail. The mailbox itself is pretty simple, even if it is unique.
It's a simple box surrounded by the spherical shape of a heavenly body, though it's hard to tell what it's made of. It could be everything from cardboard to old metal, so your best guess is as good as ours. It also looks a bit misshapen – that heavenly body could use a little bit of toning.
The Type of Innovation Jobs Would Have Liked
For some time now, Apple has been all about finding the next big product. They took old ideas and made them new again, and then came up with their own ideas to put on top of those.
Taking one of their older tower computers, cleaning out all the old wires and motherboards, and sticking it on top of a pole outside your house to make a unique mailbox doesn't seem too hard, and it will give people on the street something to talk about. It might not rival the next iPhone, but it's definitely going to be cheaper.
It's Got to Be a Disappointment
When the mail carrier first opened up this keg-slash-mailbox, do you think he or she expected some actual brew to help make the day go on a little smoother? Do you think he or she found a cup and gave that tap a pull? We don't know what kind of home this mailbox is set up for, but it could be possible that it's how a local brewery gets its mail.
It looks like it could be something like that since the rest of the picture shows us outdoor seating, and a large area with other things in it, too. Plus, it doesn't appear to be in a residential area.
Take Me to the Circus
With some welding experience, it won't be too hard to make your own version of this unicycle. It's either leftover from the circus that went through town, or it could actually be a bicycle, that was ingeniously turned into a unicycle.
No doubt the person who put this together had plenty of extra pieces sitting around and probably had a few functioning bicycles. Or, he's a retired circus clown, looking for artistic ways to use his juggling equipment.
Harvesting the Mail
If you're tired after working in the fields all day long, and you want something different to rejuvenate your mind, why not try a little bit of crafting? Getting some metal pieces and other items like wheels and welding supplies means you too can make your own small combine harvester mailbox.
Maybe you're just a John Denver fan, and you want something that lets that fact be known with subtlety and class. We can see this person is most likely the former, thanks to the big fields behind the mailbox, but it isn't out of the question for him or her to be the latter as well.
Bite My Shiny Metal Mailbox!
Another piece of fine art for the collection. This is straight from the classic adult animated television series “Futurama.” It's everybody's favorite metal-manipulating, beer-swilling, cigar-smoking robot, Bender Bending Rodriguez!
He's carrying a twelve-pack of his favorite beer and giving you a friendly wave and a big, happy smile. Hopefully, but the case of beer is sadly empty! The only solution? Put mail inside it! It's not what the real Bender would want, but this is just a mailbox. It might even be made out of metal. It could be plastic, or maybe wood. The real Bender would take GREAT umbrage with such a construction, but he won't be born until 2996.
We Hope This Person Works as a Vet
Seeing a cow along the side of the road is a common sight if you live - or drive - anywhere in the Midwest. These cows are so common that seeing a different animal is almost a cause for surprise. This mailbox, then, isn’t all that eye-catching if you’re familiar with the sight of the friendly bovines.
What is notable, however, is the way the mail does enter the cow, which is through the rear end. Of course, for farmers and people who work with animals, sometimes that is an avenue that has to be utilized for one procedure or another.
Buried Treasure
Before the technology of pressurized air and skintight wetsuits, people who went down to the depths of the ocean had to wear these diving suits. The helmets were made of heavy copper, which not only provided air but also weighed the divers down. The canvas suits they wore weren’t exactly waterproof but did offer protection from the elements.
Somebody - or some business - put together this interesting mailbox holder to help people think back to those years. It looks like this adventurous diver has just found a chest full of sunken treasure, but he’s really just found a bunch of advertisements from banks, car repair stores, and Target.
It’s Ready for i1ts Flight
Golf lovers rejoice at this mailbox. Look at it perfectly positioned, just like a golf ball on a tee - don’t you just want to take a swing? One fine designer figured out a way to make a post and a mailbox that looks just like a tee and a ball, even with all the little divots on the ball and the memorable shape of the tee.
It looks like the kind of thing that you could find to buy somewhere online for a pretty good price, but it might also be possible to build your own if you have the time, materials, and knowledge.
People Had Bigger Hands Back in the Day
Wow! Someone took an original Game Boy and turned it into a mailbox! While the very first handheld gaming device was certainly big – and beige, just as you see in the picture – it wasn't actually this big. To make a mailbox just like Nintendo's big game-changer, it comes down to pure creative skill.
Which game do you think is slotted in there right now? Of course, the obvious choice is something like “Pokémon Red” or “Pokémon Blue,” or “Kirby's Dream Land,” or “Metroid II: Return of Samus,” but we're going to go with a little bit of a dark horse. We're going to say it's “Paperboy 2.”
These Books Just Have Bills in Them!
They've been here since before you were born, and not even the upstart internet can get rid of them – it will only make them STRONGER. If you're a big book reader, a librarian, or someone who still thinks back to Scholastic book fairs, then this is the kind of mailbox you can really sink your teeth into.
Pull open the red mail flag to find the daily surprises the mailman left for you. It would be cool if each book would be a designated place for a different type of mail. One for bills, one for catalogs, another for junk, and so on.

He Could Fit in There, You Know
Octopuses – yes, octopuses, the root word isn't Latin which means the plural shouldn't end with an I – are wonderfully strange creatures. They're the closest thing we have to aliens on Earth, have no bones, and are, incredibly, quite friendly. One woodworker with a love of these undersea monstrosities whipped up something unforgettable for the mail carrier the next time the magazines come.
The winding tentacles of the creature dizzy the mind to follow them all, and the construction is immaculate. We're not even out-and-out fans of our eight-legged friends, but this kind of mailbox would be welcome outside of our home any day.
Made Out of Its Worst Nightmare
This bird-shaped mailbox is a fine piece of construction, but look closer, and you'll see there's a little more to this metal bird than you can see at first glance. The tail is built out of forks and spoons of different sizes, and the little bundle of feathers that it has on top of its head – a bit difficult to see – is actually a whisk from a mixer.
That's all well and good, but what we're really wondering is how this mailbox is floating. Is the post hidden among the shrubbery? Is it attached to the fence somehow? We may never know.
We Wonder How Big the Club Is
Your youngest keeps bragging about, how he wished he could go golfing with you? Well, this is as close as it gets. At least it looks like you have your own language carrier, escorting you all the way down to the court.
It's so well made we wouldn't be surprised for the camera to zoom out and reveal that it's actually a real boy who has covered himself in silver body paint. We wonder for how long he'll be waiting...
Not Pedaling Hard Enough
The Tour de France is one of the most grueling bicycle races in the world, and it's undoubtedly the biggest event in bike racing the world has. Plenty of people love to tune in to cheer on their country's team, but we get the feeling the guy who made this mailbox might not be the biggest fan.
It's even possible that the mailbox is on the route that the Tour de France takes. The mail carrier and the person who owns this mailbox probably had to take a few days to get used to it, but now it's just another part of the day.
Taking the Mailbox for a Spin
If you're a farmer or a rancher, a tractor is your best friend and favorite tool. Whether you're hauling in straw from the fields for the livestock to munch on, or you're dragging a tiller behind you to make the perfect rows for your next batch of crops, the tractor is there to help.
Now it also appears as a mailbox to help you out even more. This simple yellow machine has plenty of space in the front to carry all of your mail. We just wish that the wheels worked well enough to take it back into the farmhouse, so you have one less thing on your plate.
It's as Shocked as We Are
While typically fishing is catch-and-release, it looks like one fisherman had an idea to bring the fun of the lake home with him so that he can pretend he's out on the water every time he goes out to fetch his mail. It almost looks like you could take a real fish and transform it into this mailbox, but we wouldn't recommend that – it would start to stink one way or another.
It will take a little bit of wood and some woodworking skills, but it's plenty possible for you to make your own version of this item, and if you do, you can customize it to perfection.
Mail Solo
We've seen plenty of unique mailbox styles already, and there are more coming, but this one has something a little bit extra to help out. Once the mail carrier delivers everything – it looks like it's for a business, and though we can't tell what kind, it probably has something to do with music.
He or she has the opportunity to pick up the hammer and wail on the gong in order to let the people inside know that everything has arrived. As a business, they probably get a good amount of mail, and the construction and color even double up as a little bit of advertising.
Beep, Whistle
There are plenty of robots, big, small, good, and bad, in the Star Wars universe. None of them are more well-known and beloved than the blue and white Astromech droid, R2-D2.
From the very first film back in 1977, riding on the back of Luke's X-Wing, to the latest movie and even in the many different television shows, this droid is always ready to fight against the dark side of the Force. He's also ready to help get the mail, and just like the droid in the Star Wars universe, this mailbox has plenty of space for information and is ready to help everyone.

If you are mature enough to remember the astonishing "The Wall" movie directed by Alan Parker, then you are surely unable to avoid the association this hammer brings. What did the designer of this mailbox think when he brought this to life?
Was the purpose of this creation to keep the postman away? Or was it to emphasize the designer's concern and worries of the man living behind the house's wall?
