What will definitely brighten up your holiday season are these weird and wacky family Christmas cards. You may think that your family is nuts, but you may reconsider after checking out these hilarious, heartwarming, and sometimes just plain strange photos.
Return to Santa: The Movie
This family gets extra points, both for their creativity and their involvement of the entire family, including the baby.
This adorable hostage situation perfectly exemplifies what most older siblings feel when a new baby comes into the house.
All I Want for Christmas, Is Not to Be Alone
This woman got so sick of sending out Christmas cards of just herself, she ended up actually stuffing her hands into shoes and faking a strange merry feet card.
We think this is her way of telling people to stop asking if she’s dating anyone. Don’t ask, she’ll let you know.
Take My Cat, Please
This card is all about the spirit of giving, as in this dog is really eager to get rid of the cat in the family.
He wants it gone so bad, he is even willing to give up presents. Fingers crossed for a Christmas miracle buddy.
A Christmas Card for the Digital Age
Another family who decided that it's about time to send out cards that show what family life is really like. Which, in the past few years, means looking at your phones and not at each other.
Maybe, they should have a no phones at the table rule, at least for Christmas dinner.
Christmas is Coming
If you haven’t been living under a rock in the past few years, you are probably familiar with the TV series “Game of Thrones”.
This family must be big fans, because their entire Christmas card is based on the show’s most iconic phrase. We love the outfits; we just hope they don’t let their children actually watch the show.
Home Alone Tribute Card
This family’s getting in the holiday spirit by paying tribute to one of the funniest and probably most beloved Christmas movies ever, Home Alone.
Our favorite part is the kid doing Kevin’s iconic face from the movie.
We can’t help but wonder if this family gets this creative every year. These human snowflakes are both amazing and ridiculous.
We salute whatever family put in so much effort to bring us this bit of Christmas cheer.
Emily is Everything
Poor Emily, everybody else has stuff going on in their lives, even her parents get to be excited, but she just gets to be Emily.
Well, we see you girl, you are awesome and don’t let anybody tell you anything different.
Talk show host Maury Povich was famous for his dramatic paternity tests, which left viewers on the edge of their seats.
In this case, we all know who the father is, but the idea of testing Joseph is hilarious.
An Extra Magical Christmas
This very big family decided to do Christmas cards the Harry Potter way. We’re impressed by how many characters they managed to fit in.
There’s Harry, Hagrid, and Dumbledore, but also some death eaters and even a few house-elves. These guys really know their stuff.
A Real Dramatic Moment
We are not really sure what this woman was going for with this card. We have to admit that gazing off into the distance is lovely and poignant, but it doesn’t really say Merry Christmas, now does it?
Maybe she simply found a nice shot of herself and decided to just go with it.
The Famous Tree Stand
We are not sure where this family lives, or if this is even their house, but that tree is absolutely enormous. No wonder they all felt like they had to honor it by performing this impromptu tree stand.
They even tried to kind of shape themselves like a Christmas tree. They get an 'A' for effort.
Arranged by Height
There’s something about this picture that makes you think that they have been doing the same pose for many years.
The heights may have changed over the years, but their happy smiles remain, and we can only hope, the awesome outfits do too.
Ho Ho Ho in the Snow
This Canadian family is committed to their holiday card. Not only did they move all of their stuff outside into the snow, but they are also sitting calmly in robes in below zero temperatures.
The card did come out pretty cool though.
A Magical Christmas
This picture makes you wonder who sent out this Christmas card. Is it Mickey, or is it Minnie? Did they send it out as a couple?
Either way, they seem to be having a more magical Christmas than the rest of us.
This Man and All His Wives Wish You A Merry Christmas
When people hear that someone is Mormon, all they can think about is how many wives they have.
This guy was sick of the question, and decided to add some extra wives to his yearly holiday card and nip future questions in the bud.
Side Effects May Occur
This looks less like a Christmas card, and more like an ad for some kind of medicine which improves your life.
The view is lovely, but you can’t see their faces, and it looks like summer a little too much to pass for a Christmas card. Sorry, this one just doesn’t make the cut.
Cool Elf Alert
This grandfather is honestly the coolest elf we’ve ever seen. Are those skis?
Our favorite part is that he is also wearing an inflatable safety vest, while sitting on his recliner.
This picture is from the Bill Murray film 'What About Bob?', in which he plays a lovable mental patient who follows his psychiatrist home.
Do you think that whoever sent this out as a holiday card, is trying to make their feeling about uninvited guests clear?
We don’t know who the Lyles are or why they thought it would be a good idea to take a picture of their apparently naked selves in front of a Christmas tree, but we have one request, please don’t think about us until you put on some clothes.
We would greatly appreciate it.
A Very LA Christmas
This guy’s family was nervous about the impact his move to Los Angeles would have on his lifestyle and morals.
He sent them this card to let them know that everything is A-Okay.
A Cowboy, His Little Lady, and a Reindeer?
This looks like a movie poster for a Hallmark Christmas film about a horse who thought he was a reindeer.
We’re sure that if we watch it, we’ll learn all about the real meaning of Christmas, but we’re not so sure that we want to.
The Man in the Mirror
This man smiling in a mirror within a crazy Christmas landscape, which includes not one, but two different sized Santas, is just plain weird.
It seems like he went a little overboard while using Microsoft Paint.
For All Your Psychic Pet Needs
This looks like an ad for a psychic that talks to both humans and animals. The man on the couch is super focused and wants to help you talk to your pets who have passed away. What could be a better Christmas gift?
The pet psychic, it could be a TV show, and we would definitely watch it.
Out of This Galaxy
These adorable Christmas greetings are coming at you from a galaxy far, far away.
Babies Ewok and Yoda are cute, but it is Princess Leia who is really stealing the show.
It makes perfect sense that this couple wanted to include their dogs in their holiday card, but did they really mean to make them so big?
Sadly, with all the black and the positioning of the dogs, it looks like they have passed away and are watching over them. Not sure that's what they were going for.
These Nutcrackers Went All Out
The family that dresses up together, makes the best Christmas cards. This nutcracker family and their pets have made an amazing and unforgettable holiday card.
Although we have to ask, did they have to use a sharpie for the facial hair?
May the Force be Merry
The picture on the left is what Han Solo looked like in a cartoon portion of the television movie, 'The Star Wars Christmas Special'.
The film, which aired in 1978, was apparently so bad that it was never aired or released again. Not exactly a holiday classic.
Santa Number 1, Please Step Forward
You have to wonder what these Santa Clauses are suspected of doing, and why so many people are there to identify them.
All in all, this card is extremely well done, and anybody would enjoy getting it in their mailbox.
Any Old Animal Will Do
Putting together a manger scene but don’t have any sheep? Well, don’t worry, you can always use a cat in sheep’s clothing!
The cat may not seem happy about his new role, but hey, the picture is spot on.
This adorable looking family looks like they are living their worst nightmare. They have been turned into gingerbread cookies and are about to get eaten.
They all look pretty scared, but the dad is really nailing it.
A Religious Experience
This Christmas card is what the holiday is really about. The special moment of the birth of, Dog? Whoever it is in that bundle, the new parents couldn’t be happier or prouder.
Leaving us only to wonder, who is the other dog in the background? He does not seem happy.
A Proper Family Portrait
The royal family’s official christening photo for baby Archie is very prim and proper, and incredibly chic, but doesn’t exactly seem warm.
Maybe you should just focus on Harry, Meghan, and the baby; they seem to be having a good time.
The Gift of Horror
This is the poster for an actual horror movie that was released in 2015, starring William Shatner. We have to commend whoever sent it out as his Christmas card because that makes their feelings about Christmas perfectly clear.
After receiving that, we would stay away until after New Year.
Face-Off: The Christmas card
This is what happens when mom wants to send out a lovely family portrait, but dad and the kids decide to go a little crazy with Snapchat.
That dad-faced baby is going to keep us up tonight.
It's All in the Eyes
These people have obviously never heard of smizing. Otherwise, their smiles would have reached their eyes rather than stopping at the corners of their mouths and making them look like psychopaths that ate some bad sushi.
The baby in the middle actually looks like she's been posing for the camera since the day she was born.
Beauty Tips for Beauty Queens
No matter what people tell you, under any circumstances, you must never ever wear a vest with no shirt underneath. No matter how in shape you are, no matter if you are a man or a woman, no matter if the vest was designed by God himself — the first thing you do is put on a shirt.
The little beauty queens in the front are the only salvation in this picture. Without them, all we had was a man with no neck and a woman with an unfortunate sense of style.
Jazzercise with a touch of disco flair? Now we're talking! The commitment required to make this picture happen is incredible. Not only did they get the right costumes, but chest-hair-dad could sell us a fitness VHS anytime.
It looks like any holiday will sparkle from now on.
Christmas in Hell
These funny fellas obviously have friends with a similar sense of humor. Otherwise, they would have some explaining to do.
The Christmas sweaters, the bright-eyed smiles, and the innocent poses are the thing that makes this picture pure comedy gold.
Battle of the Bellies
Feeling a little bloated? Maybe it's the beer, maybe it's last night's chili, maybe you're pregnant. Who knows?
This expecting couple knows exactly what's hiding inside each belly. Just put the cigarettes away, okay? It can't be good for the baby.
This couple has been listening in art class and probably has some really artsy friends to get the reference. They managed to put a funny spin on the depressing-yet-famous painting American Gothic by Grant Wood.
The decorations on the house in the background would have been the best thing about this card if it wasn't for the perfect deadpan expression on the couple's face. Their art teacher must be very proud.
Sunkissed or Sunburned?
Stick a fork in them, they're done. Protecting your skin from the sun is no laughing matter... Or is it? Look at this crispy tan. They might as well be covered in breadcrumbs and put in a nice bucket of fried chicken. They are definitely not planning on a snowy holiday.
If you're going to rub your friends' faces in how you get to spend your holiday sunbathing on an exotic beach somewhere, you might as well do it with humor.
Something's Not Working
Look, it's all there, right? The tree, the decorations, the fake fireplace, even those horrid Christmas sweaters. You can't say they didn't try. Some people just have awkwardness engrained in their DNA. At least their dog is smiling.
We were wondering what the initials on the stockings stand for. Our guess is that the F stands for Frightened of cameras , and that the J stands for Just trying my best, okay? Now take the picture already!
Here is what we think happened at the studio where this picture was taken: Photographer: "Look over here... great. Now smile... perfect." *click* "Now give me a pose... Beautiful" *click* "Now neigh like a horse." Family: "Umm... What?" Photographer: "Did I stutter?"
The brother on the right was really embracing his inner horse.
All Denim All the Time
Those denim loving dames are on a mission to cover the world with jeans. First — their furniture, next — their pets, and finally — the world! Cue the evil laugh.
Despite their apparent plan to take over the world, we must commend them on their brave choice of pun and on the fact they named their cat Penguin.
A Little Tied up
Look at those innocent eyes and that blonde hair. How can those angelic faces be on anyone's naughty list?
Our guess is that the twinkle lights and ducktape are all a precaution so they won't try to sneak downstairs and have some of Santa's cookies.
Ho Ho Hold Up... What's Happening?
We appreciate the seasonal backdrop, the elf costume, and the fact that this guy found proper attire for his bunny. The only thing we wish for is for the guy to not look like he just remembered his gingerbread cookies should have been out of the oven 45 minutes ago.
We know that Santa's sleigh is pulled by reindeer, but we like to think that elves have smaller ones pulled by little bunnies like the one in the picture.
Behold the glorious wombat. This cute little beast's name is Boo. She was found by the side of the road in Australia after her mother was sadly hit by a car. She was adopted by Nick, a local who has been taking care of her ever since.
For her first Christmas, her adoptive father Nick took her to see Santa and we're pretty sure you would all love to hang this picture of their encounter as a poster in your bedrooms.
No Gifts for Me, Thanks
Santa is usually a positive figure. You know, it's a nice old man handing out presents. Who wouldn't want to spend some time with him, right? Well, apparently not all kids are fans of Santa.
When you think about it, there is some sense to it. After all, aren't we all taught not to sit in a stranger's lap no matter what presents he has to offer?
Meet this guy and his invisible girlfriend, Stacy. Since they first on an ice-skating rink a few months ago, the two have been inseparable. They know that sending out joint Christmas cards is a big step in their relationship but they are confident that this one's going to last.
They are hoping to have some invisible children someday too, but for now they are happy just being with each other.
Going through three bottles of liquor tends to knock you out and John here has had to learn it the hard way. While his Christmas party guests are having fun in the living room, he will have to sleep it off in the bathroom.
Let that be a lesson, John.
Merry Furry Christmas
As we grow older we get to choose our family. Nobody said all members of this family have to be human.
This guy, for example, chose to have a bunny-wife and three cat-kids. Technically, we are not here to judge, be we kind of are.
No No No
When posing for a Christmas card you may wear an ugly sweater, you may dress up as Santa, you may even use bad special effects.
What you may not do is dress your wife and probably underage daughters in t-shirts that say Ho.
Who knew bald caps and orange robes can be so entertaining? These two, apparently.
We're not sure if Hare Krishna even celebrate Christmas. But if they did, their Christmas cards would have probably looked just like this one.
Is This the Real Life? Is This Just Fantasy?
Can anyone else hear "Bohemian Rhapsody" playing in the background? We can't be the only ones. Those floating heads on the black backdrop are giving us some serious Queen vibes.
Any way the wind blows, those pets will follow. That is the only explanation as to why they are all looking in different directions.
These guys are living their Wizard of Oz fantasy to the fullest. They got the whole floating head thing going on and we can even see the cat playing the cowardly lion in the future.
Can we please get a framed copy?
Not in Front of the Kids
Sticking out your tongue can have multiple meanings. It can mean "I'm a cute college student at a party", "my doctor needs to see if I'm sick", "I'm about to go bananas on this ice cream", and the list goes on and on.
In this case, sticking out your tongue means "Ewww, mom and dad, get a room!"
Isn't it nice to have a fancy holiday dinner with your family? You get to dress up, spend time with your favorite people, and eat your favorite food (or your dad's head).
The main dish here looks a little rare. Maybe it needs a few more minutes in the oven.
Back From the Future
This is it. We're saved. This family has cracked the code and built a time machine. They traveled through time and space and they have news about the future.
After gathering evidence from far and wide, they know what the future holds. It's corn. The future holds corn.
What a Big Baby!
We still aren't sure what we're looking at. It could be two adults and a baby or an adult and two babies. The jury is still out on the matter.
Judging by the confused look on the little baby's face, she is not sure about what's happening either.
