Most people buy video games, try these games for a while, and for one reason or the other forget about them. Though you might have tried a few video game before that didn’t seem good at first, some of these games actually improve really well after their first release by the makers expanding, updating and even re-mastering the old video game to give it a new look. There are several games that deserves a revisit if you gave up or got bored of them the first time you tried them. However, these three video games should be at the top of your “video game second chance” list.
Destiny 2 – (Available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC)
Destiny 2 at its first release was rough (this among other problems). As a big player of “Destiny”, even before the release of the sequel, I was very disappointed with the way Destiny 2 had relapsed. The fun systems became less fun, the exotic all-too-rare items became way too easy to get, and the video game was more boring than the initial outing. Although, just like the first Destiny game, Destiny 2 had a massive remodeling in form of an expansion, which came out in September, precisely a year after the release of the base game. Destiny 2 Forsaken, the new expansion drastically gave a change to how players experienced Destiny for the better. For me I would say till date it’s the best Destiny expansion. Sadly, because of the launch of Destiny 2 in 2017 which was bad, most people don’t know of all the amazing new goodies in Destiny 2 Forsaken. However, if you try Destiny 2 again you will enjoy a very fun and addictive sci-fi shooter that certainly feels more rewarding and exciting than it was a year ago. Price- “Forsaken Legendary Collection,” which contains the base game and all three expansions on Amazon costs $35.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt- (Available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC)
Honestly, the first time I played “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt”, I was overwhelmed by it. There were so many quests to do and several large areas to explore but at that time, I had other video games I was interested in playing so I had to put it down. However, this summer I was looking for a new video game to play and I remembered “The Witcher 3” and decided to give it another chance. I started from the beginning and immediately I was enthralled. The developers, CD Project Red, had fixed numerous bugs and problems that affected the game’s performance and improved its stability. The game also had two new expansions, including the “Blood and Wine” expansion, which were available for me to play. This video game van be an amazing magical experience for you, presenting to you an immersive fantasy world that has monsters, magic, unforgettable quests and characters. The game has really improved since it’s first launch and if you try it now you can definitely enjoy all the great expansions. Price: “Game of the Year Edition”, which comes with the base game and all expansions, on Amazon costs $36.
Dark Souls Re-mastered- (Available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC)
Fans of “Dark Souls” were treated to a re-mastered version of the original game which initially was released in 2011 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The game Dark Souls was well-known to be a very difficult game which also had amazing design elements like a deep combat system and interconnected environments. The re-mastered version of this game had the original base game and its expansions for current generation game consoles like Xbox One and PlayStation 4. It was also launched in October for the Nintendo Switch making it available for everyone to pay it in the go. As the holiday season approaches, this is the best time to try out this challenging game again. Price:(depending on platform) on Amazon it costs $27 to $32.
